Overview

The Uttar Pradesh Diploma in Elementary Education (UPDELED), formerly known as BTC, opens a huge opportunity for aspiring teachers. About 2.33 lakh seats are available across 10,600 government DIETs and 2.23 lakh private colleges. The program starts in February 2026 and offers eligibility for future UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment and the UP-TET exam. There is no entrance test – selection depends purely on academic merit and several rounds of online counselling.

Important Dates

Applications are live from 24 November 2025 and close on 15 December 2025. The last date to pay the application fee is 16 December 2025, after which the completed form must be submitted by 18 December 2025. Merit lists and final results will be released according to the schedule announced in the notification.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree from any discipline with a minimum of 50 % marks (45 % for SC/ST candidates). The age limit ranges from 18 to 35 years, with state‑level relaxation rules applicable.

Vacancy Details

In total, approximately 2,33,000 seats are reserved for this two‑year diploma programme. Seats are allocated across government and private institutions, providing a wide field of choice for candidates.

How to Apply

Step 1: Visit the official portal at UPDELED Admission Portal. Step 2: Fill in the online form between 24 November and 15 December 2025. Step 3: Upload scanned copies of your photo, signature, ID proof, and degree certificate. Step 4: Review the preview, submit the form, and keep a printout for your records.

Fee Details

The application fee is ₹700 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates; ₹500 for SC/ST applicants; and ₹200 for PWD candidates. Payments can be made through debit card, credit card, or net banking.
