The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced the application process for the UGC NET December 2025 exam. Candidates across India can now register online between 25 September 2025 and 27 October 2025. Make sure you read the official notification before taking any action.

Important Dates

Form starts: 25 September 2025. Last date for form submission: 27 October 2025. Last date for fee payment: 28 October 2025. Correction or edit window: 30 October 2025 to 1 November 2025. Admit card will be available in the exam portal before the exam day. The exam is scheduled for 18 December 2025.

Exam Details

Eligible for NET or JRF. The exam covers five subject areas: Chemical Science, Earth/Atmospheric/Ocean/Planetary Science, Life Science, Mathematical Science, and Physical Science. No age limit for NET candidates, while JRF candidates must be under 28 years old. The answer key and results will be released according to the official timetable.

Fees and Payment

General candidates pay Rs 1150. OBC/EWS candidates pay Rs 600, and SC/ST candidates pay Rs 325. Online payment can be made via Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card. Ensure that the payment reference is correctly captured to avoid delays.

Eligibility

Applicants must hold an M.Sc. or an equivalent degree from a recognized university. General/OBC candidates need a minimum of 55 percent, while SC/ST and PH candidates require 50 percent. Integrated courses or degrees like B.E./B.Tech., B.Pharma, or MBBS also qualify. Check the notification for age relaxation details.

Register through the official NTA portal and fill every field carefully, including your name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, address, and qualification details.
