About the Young Professionals Recruitment 2026
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’s Welfare has announced a contract‑based hiring of two Young Professionals (YP) positions for the academic year 2026‑2027. These appointments are part of the ministry’s initiative to inject fresh, tech‑savvy talent into the agricultural service ecosystem.
Applicants will be engaged in policy research, data analysis, extension services, and strategic support for rural development. The roles are scheduled for a 28‑month contract with options for renewal based on performance and funding availability.
Eligibility & Qualification
- Nationality: Indian citizens only.
- Age Limit: 18 to 35 years as on 1 January 2026. No upper age limit for post‑doctoral candidates.
- Educational Qualification: A master’s degree (or equivalent) in Agriculture, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline from a recognized university or institute. PhD holders are also eligible, subject to age waiver.
- Other Criteria:
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in MS Office and analytics tools (e.g., R, Python, SQL).
- Good understanding of Government schemes such as PM Kisan, PMGSY, and MGNREGA.
