This page provides the latest information on the NTA NIFTEE 2025 result for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination. It is useful for candidates who have appeared for the UG and PG programmes and are awaiting admission decisions. The result this year is particularly important because NIFT has introduced a revised merit list format that includes sectional scores, affecting tie‑breaking procedures.

Exam Overview

The NIFTEE 2025 consisted of two papers:

  • GAT (General Ability Test): 150 questions covering quantitative ability, communication ability, English comprehension, analytical ability, general knowledge, and current affairs.
  • CAT (Creative Ability Test): 3 questions evaluating design ability, observation skills, and innovation through sketching and model making.

Admit Card & Result

Admit cards were released on the official NTA NIFTEE portal and contained the candidate’s roll number, exam centre, timing, and important instructions. Results are available as a PDF scorecard showing sectional and overall scores. Candidates must download and preserve the scorecard for counselling.

Who Should Apply and Who Should Not

Should apply:

  • Candidates with a strong interest in design, fashion, or technology and who enjoy creative problem‑solving.
  • Those who have prepared for both aptitude (GAT) and creative (CAT) sections, as neglecting either reduces chances significantly.
  • Students willing to relocate to any of the NIFT campuses across India, as seat allocation is not strictly based on hometown preference.
  • Should reconsider:

    • Applicants looking only for a guaranteed government job; NIFT programmes are professional courses with placement dependent on portfolio and industry trends.
    • Candidates unable to meet the age limit for UG programmes (relaxation is not provided).
    • Those who have not practiced sketching or model making, as the CAT section carries substantial weight.
    • Common Mistakes Candidates Make

Based on previous recruitment cycles, the following errors frequently affect scores:

      • Ignoring negative marking: The GAT includes negative marking for incorrect answers; random guessing lowers the net score.
      • Over‑emphasising GAT: Many candidates spend excessive time on GAT and leave insufficient time for CAT, resulting in low creative scores.
      • Missing the admit card print‑out: Some candidates rely on mobile display only; centres may reject the admit card if it is not a clear printed copy.
      • Not checking the sectional cut‑off: Qualifying requires clearing both GAT and CAT cut‑offs; a high overall score with a low CAT score can lead to disqualification.
